Gudda's first birthday

Posted by Picasa We celebrated Gudda's first birthday as an outdoor summer party at our home in Stamford. After a long time I made 2 cakes for her party. One was an eggless pineapple cake and a chocolate cake. We had water pools for the kids and they played on swings. We also tried barbecue but that was not very successful. Mahika also started walking on her first birthday. She was walking a little bit (short distances) before that but from her birthday onwards there was no stopping her. Most of our friends came over from NJ for her birthday party.

Merry Chirstmas 2006

Hello All,
Here comes a new post for my "neglected for some months" blog. Titlu and Pitlu are doing amazingly well. Mahika has a nickname GUDDA, which if she continues in her naughty ways will be changed again to GUNDA. She is talking a lot and exercising her motor skills in all different ways. Her most favorite acitivity is climbing. Chair, stool, sofa, bed..you name it. She has to climb it or at least try to. She is also talking a lot, able to express her needs and thoughts quite clearly. A week ago, I asked her if she wanted some chocolate. She ran and got a plastic bowl and looks up to me and says-"Dabba ke andar dalo".
Baba is also becoming a big boy. She is treating gudda with more and more love everyday and she is also doing lot of "Bhaiya Bhaiya"

Choti's update

A lot has happened with Choti (as she is now being referred to by that name more and more. No prizes for guessing whose brainchild the name is - of course the big brother).
She is crawling all over the house like a small puppy and if we crawl after her, she picks up speed and scoots in a different direction. Jaise he mauka milta hai and she figures noone is watching her, she starts climbing the stairs.
When I say No..she starts moving her head side to side. She is mummy's main entertainer. Keeps her occupied all day long. Haan if Baba is hugging her tightly, which he often does on the pretext of loving her, she is now able to push him away and make an irritated sound.

But Baba loves her too much. Anything bad and if we give him the dhamki ki fir choti ko hospital bhej denge if you trouble her too much (the place where she came from), he immidiately backs off.
She is also babbling away to glory. Stroller mein jab bhi ghoomti hai, to pair hilte rehte hain. Topi utar utar kar fekne mein expert hai.

Bring Your Kids to Work Day

So yesterday was "Bring Your kids To Work" Day. I brought Abhimanyu to my office. He was very very excited. Previous night instructions to me were - "Mummy Kal main apne clothes khud pick karoonga."
Morning he got up early and got ready without any fuss. Thoughroughly enjoyed the train and the ferry ride to work. He was calling the ferry "canoe". So all through the day I kept correcting him. Finally at the end of the day he said "Main ferry ko canoe he bolta hoon". There no more correcting the boy.

He gave the tickets to the conductors and chatted with Mayuri all the way in the train. Very proudly showed his blue t-shirt to my friends. :-)

Office mein aakar he adjusted after sometime and played with couple of kids (desi boys - his age). Then my boss gave him some toys - spiderman which he totally loved.
For food we went to McDonalds where he ate his kids meal and ice cream.
Haan one of the friend's son was 3 years old. Younger than him, so when Baba was playing with him, he is refering to himself, as "Bhaiya" He says -Dekho aise karo jaise Bhaiya kar raha hai. So my friend was saying that he is totally a big brother. :-)
Dono boys ko poora control mein rakha hua tha...one friend said - "Bahut teej hai tera ladka"

At around 2 we left and reached home by 3:30. Both of us were totally smashed out.

Abhimanyu's first concert at school

So April 21st was the Abhimanyu's first concert in which he performed. School closed early, so picked him up early and then bought fries from Burger King as had been planned by me and him a day earlier. After fries we reached home. He was very very excited. Explained some things to me. "You can wave to me, but I cant wave to you" "you sit in the audience on 13# seat" "Pull down the seat before you sit". A day earlier he had asked not to go to work as it was his concert. When Rahul said he would come back early he said "OK, tum bas apne computer par ek tapan daba kar aa jana" :-)
We started well in time, so much so that, an extra round about trip to pick up a bag that we forgot, and we were still in time. Michelle, my friend had saved us second row seats. Baba was all dressed up in black t-shirt, black formal pants, formal black shoes, and a red shiny vest. He ran upto his friends in the Becton High School. Told me to go the audience.
His dance was the most amazing thing that I have seen in a while. He was having so much fun up on the stage performing. He even waved to us. Priceless.
Mahika was sleeping and as soon as the concert started, she got up and started watching. 10 mins into the concert and she was in the lap standing and clapping and jumping up and down. All of just loved the whole thing.
